Where to Grab a Bevvie in Dunsborough & Yallingup

There’s a pretty good rhythm to a day around Dunsborough and Yallingup. Get out early, chase some swell, have a swim, explore a bit and have a play. The Pour House has that great relaxed energy you want from a beach town pub, making it a favourite with locals and visitors alike. The tap lineup is more than just a nod to the craft beer scene, it's a deep, respectful bow. They’ve got an impressive 18 taps dedicated to local brews, so you could make a few visits just to work your way through the lineup. The menu covers all the important pub staples, along with share plates and generous feeds. There’s plenty to choose from, and the portions are definitely enough to satisfy even the hungriest of mouths.

Bungalow Social

Bungalow Social certainly lives up to the name. Walking in feels a bit like stepping into a tropical beach house, with lush palms, retro furniture and a refined ’60s disco feel. It’s got a laid-back vibe, and there’s usually a good crowd in. Twelve taps keep the beer lineup interesting, with a mix of local brews and beers from further afield. Cocktails are another strong suit, and the Italian-Mediterranean menu is well worth a look. Do yourself a favour and order one of their insanely good pizzas while you’re there.

Wise Wine

The location at Wise Wine is hard to beat. While you sip, you’ll be surrounded by vineyards and natural bushland, with glimpses of the blue waters of Geographe Bay beyond. The restaurant is open daily, with menus built around seasonal Western Australian produce and matched with Wise’s own wines and spirits. Add in generous hospitality and a great atmosphere, and it’s an easy place to settle in for a glass or a few.

Lakeside Café, Bar & Bistro

Set within Dunsborough Lakes Golf Club, Lakeside is a peaceful spot to pull up for a feed and a drink. It’s open to the general public too, so you don’t need to have spent the day on the green to enjoy the scenery and watch the golfers do their thing. The food gets its fair share of rave reviews, but even better is the solid lineup of craft beers on tap and a wine list that gives Margaret River wines plenty of love.

Yarri Restaurant and Bar

Yarri Restaurant and Bar is casual elegance to a tee. The setting is intimate and relaxed, with a dining room inspired by the surrounding bushland and a focus on good food, wine and friendly service. It’s home to Snake + Herring Wines, with their own creations featuring alongside local breweries and a cocktail menu that’s split between seasonal experiments and reliable classics. The food on offer is a downright celebration of Western Australian produce. The gardener arrives each day with a harvest of herbs, fruit and vegetables, which head straight into the kitchen and onto the menu.
