See Margaret River in a Day
Got one day in Margaret River? Sheeeesh. There’s a lot packed into our region, but this route keeps things fairly simple: a bit of beach, a bit of chocolate, a few beers, some primo scenery and plenty of food and drink.
Brekkie: White Elephant Cafe

Start the day down at Gnarabup with a leisurely brekkie at White Elephant Café. It’s right on the beach, so you can take in the view while you fuel up for the day ahead. But don’t just sit there looking at the water. Get in there! Gnarabup Beach is nicely tucked away from the bigger swell you’ll find at Surfers Point, making it a top spot for a morning dip.
Sweet Stop: The Margaret River Chocolate Factory

No trip to Margaret River is complete without a drive along Caves Road. Take the scenic route and wind your way through tall timber before making a very important stop at the iconic Margaret River Chocolate Factory. It’s a building full of chocolate, do we really need to convince you? There’s choccies in all shapes, colours and flavours, plus you can try some for free (and no, not just because you nicked it).
Lunch: Cheeky Monkey Brewing Co

Keep cruising along Caves Road and make a stop at Cheeky Monkey Brewing Co, one of the region’s long-standing breweries. Grab some lunch, a couple of locally brewed beers and a spot out on the lawn overlooking the wine country surrounds. If you’ve got little ones along for the ride, they can keep themselves entertained on the playground while you soak up the sunshine.
Arvo Dip: Gracetown Beach

On your way back into town, hit up Gracetown Beach. There are plenty of good vantage points to watch the surfers do their thing, from the pretty hardcore swells rolling through North Point to the longboarders cruising along the waves at Huzzas. If you’d rather get in the water yourself, sans-surfboard, the main bay is nicely protected and great for a swim or snorkel. The calm waters also make it a great option for the kids to have a splash.

Go where the locals go. HomeGround has good food, good drinks and sport playing on the telly, all right in the heart of Margaret River. Handy if you’re staying in town, and even handier if you’ve spent the day exploring and don’t feel like going too far for dinner.
Last Drinks: Yonder Bar

Cap off the night at Yonder Bar, a super vibey little dive bar tucked away in the backstreets of Margaret River town centre. They’ve got an extensive cocktail list, local tinnies and a solid soundtrack to go with them.
