Where to Eat & Drink in Margaret River
The Margaret River region sure knows its way around a good feed. There are so many solid places to eat and drink around here that deciding where to go can be half the battle. So, to save you scrolling through every menu in the region, here are a few spots to put on your radar.
Cheeky Monkey Brewing Co

A Margaret River classic, Cheeky Monkey Brewing Co sits right on Caves Road, surrounded by countryside and bushland. It’s a big spot with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, a relaxed atmosphere and a menu that covers all the important stuff: burgers, pizzas, salads, small plates and bigger feeds. They brew their own award-winning beers, with plenty of other alcoholic and non-alcoholic options on the menu too.
The Servo

The Servo is a little way outside Margaret River in Cowaramup. Or Cow Town. Or Cowie. Take your pick. It’s worth checking out if you’re into your beer, with 15 rotating taps pouring local brews alongside beers from further afield, including Europe and the US. Food-wise, expect classic brewhouse grub, with regular live music adding to the atmosphere. It’s also dog-friendly, so your four-legged friend can tag along.

Margaret River Tuck Shop brings that old surf-town spirit with a completely modern twist. The menu is anything but your standard tuck shop fare, with some creative combos that make use of native bushfoods, local seafood and probably a few things you haven’t tried before. When it comes to the liquid stuff, there’s a rotating selection of local beer behind the bar, plus a classic cocktail list and a pretty lengthy wine menu to choose from.
The Common

The Common has a pretty good claim to fame as the only pub in Prevelly. If you’re visiting the region, here’s a quick little local geography lesson: world-famous surf town Margaret River is actually about 10km inland, while those insane surf breaks you’ve probably heard about are a 10-minute drive away in Prevelly. Okay, that's enough learning for today. The Common is a proper beachside pub, with good, honest food, ice-cold brews, live tunes and a friendly crew. It’s exactly where you want to pull up after a day down by the coast.

Sometimes you just want a decent feed, a cold drink and the footy on the telly. HomeGround is smack bang in the middle of town, so there’s no need to venture too far, with a straightforward menu covering everything from smaller bites to bigger feeds. They also run mid-week food specials and quiz nights, so there’s usually something happening alongside dinner.

Elliott's Steakhouse offers a polished take on Margaret River dining. This boutique steakhouse puts local and seasonal produce front and centre, with an English-European influence. Pair dinner with some of the local beer and wine on offer and you’re onto a winner.
La Scarpetta Trattoria

Driving along the Main Street through Margaret River, you can’t miss La Scarpetta. Housed in a heritage building with old-world charm, it wouldn't look out of place in a fairytale. But inside you won’t find any magic spells or talking animals, just authentic Italian cooking. Pastas are made in-house daily, and it’s arguably the best Italian food you can get in the area. Pair dinner with a bottle of Italian or local wine, or a local beer. Bellissimo!
