Double the Trouble: The Cheeky Guide to IIPAs
We Like It Big
Hereβs the truth: we arenβt shy with a lot of our cheeky beers, or any of them, but our Cheeky Imperial India Pale Ale (IIPA) is turned up to eleven, channeling the brewers aggressive rock playlist here. Strong, complex, and unapologetically full of character.
Sitting at 8% ABV and 80 IBU there isnβt any mucking around. Double dry-hopped with Galaxy, Citra, and El Dorado hops, you can expect a bitter resin taste, rounded out with tropical fruit and a sweet stonefruit aroma that pacts together to form one badass beer.
Our IIPA is a fan favourite thanks to its bold, resinous yet clean flavour, and the unforgettable mark it leaves that keeps you coming back for more. A true staple of our cheeky Core Range, itβs not going out of style anytime soon!
Margaret River, home of Bold Craft Beer
The other truth is, we arenβt the only ones killing the game in bold craft brews. Weβre lucky here in the Margaret River Region to host many banging beers that have grit and character. Some of our favourite examples outside of the cheeky realm include: Beerfarmβs India Pale Ale, although not quite as bold, sitting at 5.6% this one still packs a punch with Mosaic & Citra hops and the citrus spice of NZ Motueka. Another goldy is Rocky Ridgeβs Ace IPA, a punchy, resinous full-flavoured IPA sitting at 6.8% ABV.Β
If youβre in Margaret River, you are spoilt for choice when it comes to craft beer and finding a flavourful bold brew, so make sure you take a journey to check them all out and find your favourite.Β
Choosing Your Style
Think of IIPAs as stronger, hoppier, and bolder than standard IPAs. They make their mark in how they balance complexity. Look out for juicy tropical notes, resinous mouthfeel, and a solid malt backbone that keeps everything in balance. Want something fruity and bright? Go for a Galaxy or Citra-forward IIPA. For something a little drier and more bitter? Seek out the ones that lean on hops like Simcoe or Amarillo.Β
